1. Maritime Museum The museum, built by the Melaka State Government, was constructed after the 'Flor De La Mar', the Portuguese ship which sank off the coast of Melaka on its way to Portugal. |
2. Splitting Rock, Besar Island This was the rock where a legendary warrior, Panglima Lidah Hitam (the Black Tongue Warrior) demonstrated his powers by using his tongue to crack the rock into two. |

4. Dol Said's Grave Here lies one of Melaka's fallen heroes. Dol Said was the ninth ruler of Naning who defiantly opposed the imposition of tax by the British on Alor Gajah. |
5. Porta de Santiago (A Famosa) The Porta de Santiago is all that remains of this Portuguese fortress, but it was used to house a Christian city and is a poignant reminder of the Portuguese occupation of Melaka over 400 years ago. |
6. Alor Gajah District Museum The Malay-style wooden building, opened in 1990, is home to an interesting collection of weapons, daily implements and costumes. |
7. Gadek Hot Springs Found about five minute's drive from Alor Gajah town is this natural hot-water well complex, another one of Melaka's many tourist attractions. |
8. Hang Tuah's Well The spirit of Hang Tuah, the legendary 15th-century Melaka warrior and admiral, is said to live in the form of a white crocodile. Locals say it can be seen by the spiritually pure at his well. |
