Taiping Zoo
"For a small fee, you are able to treat yourself to the exotic sights and sounds of some of Malaysia's wild animals in an enclave of natural setting with streams, lakes and abundance of flora."

Located within the Taiping Lake Gardens, it houses both local and exotic wildlife in excellent surroundings, making it a popular spot for family outings. The zoo is probably the oldest in the country.

Enjoy the exotic sights and sounds of some of Malaysia's wild animals in an enclave of natural settings with streams, lakes and abundance of flora.

More than 1200 species of animals including birds, reptiles and mammals can be witnessed in the natural-looking enclosures. Among the wildlife here are the endangered species such as the whitehead eagle (Brahmini Kita/Halistur Indus), honey bears (Helactus Malayanus), black panthers, Orang Utans, the Malaysian elephants and tigers. There are also a host of animals from foreign lands including the African lions.

The zoo is open from 8.30am to 6pm daily and the animal feeding time is usually from 10am to 12pm.

The entrance fees are as follows:

Adult - RM12

Children- RM8

Video Camera- Free
